The Shaman and other shadows è una selezione di racconti già pubblicati; ma le buone notizie non finiscono qui, perché da pochi giorni, uscirà, sempre in inglese, ed edito da Kipple, una raccolta, avente per titolo Venus Intervention, di poesie dark scritte insieme a Corrine De Winter, premio Bram Stoker Awards.
Si tratta di una primizia, dal momento che mai nessun autore italiano ha collaborato e scritto racconti, poesie o romanzi con un autore vincitore dello Stoker, nonché finalista per ben tre volte.
Adesso andiamo a parlare di The Shaman and other shadows, ricordando altresì che l’editing è stato curato Benjamin Kane Ethridge, altro vincitore del Bram Stoker Awards.

Questo primo ebook in lingua inglese, dedicato al mercato internazionale, sarà presto seguito da altri titoli in inglese già pubblicati in Italiano, sia racconti che romanzi, pubblicati sia in modo indipendente che tramite editori italiani e stranieri.
Tra pochi giorni sarà pubblicata da Kipple Officina Libraria la raccolta di poesie dark (inedita, sempre in lingua inglese) Venus Intervention, scritta dall’autore, direttamente in inglese, insieme alla poetessa statunitense Corrine De Winter, vincitrice del Bram Stoker Awards per la categoria poetry e più volte finalista. La cover stavolta sarà realizzata da Daniele Serra, vincitore del British Fantasy Award come Best Artist, (in lizza anche alla edizione in corso) che impreziosirà l’ebook anche con due illustrazioni interne ad acquerello. Introduzione ed editing di Benjamin Kane Ethridge, Per questa pubblicazione seguirà un comunicato stampa dedicato.

Descrizione/sinossi del libro in Inglese: A horror and distopic SF short stories collection, that explores the supernatural terror and the human violence.
It contains six short stories:
The Mount Meru: Tanzania, Chicka and her son Ga-Gorib are making a journey to the slopes of the sacred mountain, meeting on their way a group of mercilessly raiders, who’ll unleash all their violence and lust against the two unfortunates. Chicka and Ga-Gorib will be revenged by strange anthropomorphic creatures that live in those places. They'll drag the raiders, still alive, in their pits, to devour them. At the end, Ga-Gorib will meet his unexpected fate.
Regnum Congo: A loose interpretation of The Picture in the house by H.P. Lovecraft. A terrible storm, a house in the forest inhabited by a mysterious guardian. A man who is looking for a refuge, will open the bloody doors of the anthropophagy and of the Hell.
The Shaman: In the future and dystopian Paris, where there is no hope for anybody, the inhabitants of the apocalyptic neighborhood Paris Sud 5 rely on Chopi, the Shaman of the Rue de Paradis, to find the missing loved ones. Even just a piece of them. Using a photo and a pile of bones, the Shaman can recognize the missing person, with an ancient ritual.
The Wolf Gate: The Reaper acts in the sewers, she performs her task by sending to hunting her trusty wolf, who rips with a bite the souls of the predestined to take them to its mistress.
Nature's Oddities: A family hides a monster in its basement for many generations, taking care of it. One day something goes wrong, and the monster reveals its nature.
The Ring: Theo and his group of friends, residents in the apocalyptic neighborhood of Paris Sud 5, are fishing waste and objects in the Seine, under the carcass of the Pont Neuf, the suicide bridge. The group of kids finds a woman hand with a precious ring on the finger. The collection is completed by the poetry Interiora, loosely inspired by Danse Macabre.
Consulente editoriale e autore di narrativa e saggistica di genere horror, fantascienza, thriller, dark fantasy, weird. Ha collaborato con varie case editrici (Gargoyle Books, Edizioni XII, Mezzotints eBooks) come direttore editoriale, responsabile di collana, responsabile marketing, responsabile diritti esteri, consulente, e con diverse testate online (Newsletter della Horror Writers Association, La Tela Nera, H, L'Almanacco di Horror Magazine) come columnist, curatore di rubriche di approfondimento letterario e articolista. Ho curato diversi blog dedicati alla narrativa di genere.
Ha pubblicato una raccolta di racconti (Malanima - Storie di lame e presenze), una collection di interviste ai grandi maestri dell'horror anglosassone (Monster Masters) e diversi racconti inseriti in antologie, cartacee ed ebook. Con lo pseudonimo di Caleb Battiago ho pubblicato sette titoli ebook, tra i quali due romanzi (Naraka, Shanti) quattro raccolte di racconti (Acrux, Parigi Sud 5, Limbus, Mictlan) e una collection di opere (Nakara Kollection).
Ha curato diverse antologie di narrativa in formato digitale e ho collaborato con vari autori come agente letterario.
E’ Associate Member della Horror Writers Association, ha ricoperto il ruolo di Italy Coordinator e di columnist della newsletter.
